Okay, last picture post today, I promise!

1-3: Everthus the Deadbeats
I photographed these guys in near dark awhile back, so I thought I would give it another go. Things worked out a little better this time, you know, since there were lights and stuff.

4-7: The Z's (from NY I think)
The Z's were pretty interesting. They sat in a circle facing eachother because a lot of their timing was based on watching eachother. They also played to sheet music. It was pretty difficult to try to photograph around the music stands etc., but luckily I can get around the side of the stage at this venue.

As usual, more pics and exif info can be found on my zenfolio (external link)
Thanks for looking.

1 **edited version (again) - I gave up and went monochromatic

2. This is probably the sharpest concert photo I've ever taken. Resized and converted to jpeg it doesn't look like much, but I was pretty surprised when I first loaded up the original raw. Got to love the 100 f/2.

3. **edited version. This color balance is more representative of the actual lighting at the time. I guess if you can't get it right, leave it alone (or go b&w!).

4 **edited version with some cloning
IMAGE: http://bacchanal.zenfolio.com/img/p555015169-4.jpg

5. The music stand got in the way of this one a little. It was near impossible to get this guys face as he was looking back at the drummer most of the time.

6. Not so sharp, but I still liked this one

7. Clapping

I like the drummer shot.
#1 and 3 need a new go at postprocessing.

I guess we all like the drummer shot. I also had a go at one but I'm not sure it's better.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, I made some changes and updated the images. The second time around I realized that I really burned out #1 in pp, hopefully this one is better.

Update is better, but #1 is still a kinda 'piggy pink'. #3 is way better color wise, but lacking a bit of contrast now.

alright thanks, I'm actually red/green colorblind, so the whole pp thing is kind of a pain in the ass for me . I seriously need to get my wife on board to help me with the whole color balance thing!

In that case: This (external link) might help if you are looking for neutral skin tone...

Now that I am moving toward RAW and PS I need you to put all these fantastic links into a post in the FAQ ... or did you already? ;) You've got more links applicable to manipulating concert images (I know they aren't intended for that specific purpose) than anyone else.

Thanks for the link. It is certainly informative, unfortunately I only have elements, which doesn't support cmyk (well supposedly Richard Lynch has a work around). The more I get into processing images, I'm realizing how limiting it is not to have true curves and cmyk support. Maybe photoshop is in my future. Hmm...photoshop or a 10-22, that's a tough one!

Other than one...I like the shots...Sax is cool...the girl looks great and the closeups are detailed...5, 6, and 7, are real pleasant to the eye as well...It's an interesting set from the show...
