Scott Kelby writes great stuff, informative and somewhat entertaining. While I cannot vouch for Evening I know that Kelby is a very good pick.

I can vouch for them both.

Martin Evening is an English gentleman whom I've met at the New York PhotoPlus Expo. He is highly regarded as one of the world's leading experts in PS and now Lightroom. His books are incredibly well written.

Scott Kelby, I own his channels book which is also a great book.

As for me, I have a hard time learning from and following books. I prefer videos.

I have 3 Kelby books and really like them. But I want to see the Martin Evening book first. I am curious as to which explains the whole workflow process better. I have played with the Lightroom beta's, but never enough to actually get a workflow process started...

For now, I have been using videos to try to get things going...:D

I've got Abode Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers written by Scott Kelby. I think he does a great job of presenting what you need to know to use the program without confusing the process with all the extras some of the other books do.

I'd probably look at his stuff before anyone else's for my next purchase.

I checked out several and really preferred the Evening book, which is actually superb in all respects. Trouble is, I have still not had time to really use it :-(

Another source for videos (found it last night):

The use of the "nipples" is well explained - neat feature IMO.

The more I use this app, the more I realize the others are going south.

I also have a couple of Scott Kelby's books and like them, but I've heard great things about Martin Evening's and he's been really informative on the Adobe forums so I may give his a go.

I use one of the latest iMac's.

I am considering purchasing Scott Kelby's book on Lightroom - does this book give it's examples in Mac and Windows formats or just one or the other!!!

Cheers - fredo

I would think so, especially since Scott uses mostly Mac.
