Got back from yesterday's Rallye Sunseeker smothered in mud (trainers, jeans, coat, camera and car!!) but still, that's the fun of rallying I guess :) Anyway it was my first Sunseeker and I must admit I really enjoyed it. We managed to make it to 3 stages, SS5 Silverstone Rally School, SS10 Wareham and SS14 Shannon.

As for the photos, for once I'm actually quite happy with them. I find rallying much harder than circuit racing because the light fluctuates through the trees and also you only have 1 chance to nail the car. Before I've always been slightly disappointed with my rally photos but this time I'm pretty happy. Still, could do with a proper flashgun as the onboard flash isn't much help in the dark!!

Here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos...

#1 The crazy Peugeot 306 Cosworth!!! I want one!

#2 This EVO6 got a bit close to the crowd for comfort!

#3 Tidy old-school Escort RS2000 giving it some welly!

#4 Overall winner Marcus Dodd in the Hyundai Accent WRC. This thing was on edge everywhere I saw it!

#5 Steve Perez in the VK Ford Focus WRC spraying gravel everywhere...

#6 The Metro 6R4 of Stuart Larbey...

C&C most welcome. How many threads are there going to be this year?!?!

If you would like you can view more and larger versions here - http://www.ae-photography.co.uk/240207.html (external link) (it's a larger than normal gallery so be patient while it loads)

Glad you managed to find somewhere Az, sorry I couldn't have been of more help before, a nice selection of shots you have there. I think there could be quite a few threads from the Sunseeker.

Cheers
Ian

Great pics, yeah that car really did scare a few people! Glad I was shooting from the other side until a car swung my way later on

Nicely done, Az. Good shot of the Accent. That car was reluctant to be photographed for some reason. Lack of contrast on the front I guess.

Yes, I think we will see quite a few Sunseeker threads. There are three forum members who were with me who haven't posted yet...

Certainly helped, cheers :)

Pete, seems you were right next to me at some point then  I thought there was quite a lot of people on "our" corner and just further down on the exit, was quite suprised. Didn't really expect it to be that busy.

Cheers Cadwell. The Accent was the first car to come through, he's much quicker than the safety car and you just have to have your setup spot on because you don't get a second chance. He was really on it though, when he came through SS14 Shannon 2 in the dusk the brake discs were glowing and sparks were flying

Good shots Azza, looks like Anthony Willmington in the white Evo was hard at it. Looks like i'm the only POTN member not there this weekend :(

What sort of loon wears trainers for a Forest stage ? :D

Nice shots Az, i like the sideways MK2 RS and the Accent WRC.

By the way i'm still searching for some suitably "spectacular" shots for you. If i find any i'll mail them to you asap.

Cheers Darren, Geoff, Andy and JuZ :)

As for the colours I used "Cloudy" WB rather than the AWB I normally use.

Really enjoyed the rally, are there any other events down this way in the coming months?
