Hi,
I bought the Canon Powershot G1 in Canada, and am going on vacation to Ireland this summer. So of course, I am going to need to be able to charge the camera, I've read about the multi-voltage adapters, and I'm wondering if thats the only thing I would need, if at all, to charge the camera. If I do need it, any ideas on the price of it and where I might be able to get one?
Thanks in advance :)

You should not need a transformer as the Canon charger is 110/220. However, you will need a plug adaptor.

Hey,

Thanks for the info, I was just expecting there to be a switch or something on the adapter, so I could switch between the voltages.
Thanks again :)

Canon has a car charger that will charge your batteries from a 12 volt car lighter. I have used it and it works well. This may be a alternative to check out as I think that cars around the world use the 12 volt system???

Careful Eric! Some cars in Europe use a 6 volt system and others use a 24 volt system. Some are negative ground and some positive. Stick with AC.

Hey, don't be kidding.

6v & positive ground was used 40 years ago.
It's very difficult to find these nowadays.

24v is only used in heavy trucks.
