Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Chuck Berry played in Branson, MO on 2/16/2007. With Otis Day & The Knights playing the first half and Chuck Berry the second, if you like the old time Rock & Roll at all, you would have loved this show. Had good lighting, didn't seem as harsh is it did for Otis' set. I used the 17-55, 70-200, & the 85 1.8.

Whoa! Look at the pants on ol' Chuck there! Love it!

Your composition is fantastic. Love #s 2 and 3 - very cool shots.

In #1, can you clone out the guy in back? He looks like a little man, way outta place. Or not, doesn't matter. Who am I, right?

And the last shot is great. Really shows the fun of the evening. Good stuff.

OH, I really like the last shot ... must be the husbands of the girls asked onto the stage with their bellies against it, eh? :-) Great shots ... too bad there aren't any good lighting effects to show off your work.

I thought about it, I've got other shots that doesn't haven him in it. I just like this one and thought I'd see what others thought. That bass player has been playing with him for 34 years.

Man good to see Chuck Berry's still doing his thing.

He did his thing, from off stage you hear the opening chords of Johnny B. Goode, and he just strolls out onto the stage workin that guitar. Great start to the show.

Otis was just coool! And they worked hard living up to their "party band" reputation. Chuck Berry and crew weren't quite as "active" on stage, but they entertained just as well.

You should have seen the front of that stage for the Otis's "Shout" finale. ;)

When I said "good lighting" above, I should have said "sufficient" or "plenty" of lighting. It wasn't very interesting lighting. :D

Thanks all for the nice comments.

Great to see Chuck performing... Thanks for sharing...It's probably lucky to get by with this type of lighting...Who knows what the colorful ones would generate...

Nice expression on #6, but cropped of a bit too much guitar IMO.
#5 is nice.

The lighting had pro's & con's. High rate of keepers, they all just look alot alike. I was moving around quite a bit looking for different angles.

That was one (#6) I was really on the fence with. I wanted something like a head shot, but it was tough to find something without the mic so close. Don't know..I think I'll mull through my pictures a little more.

Thanks for the comments.

A living legend of the highest order, and you got some great pics of him. #1 is my favorite - simple, yet expressive.

Apart from the obvious cropping issues with #6, I'm not big on pics that compromise the performer by capturing them between expressions.

Excellant work, nonetheless.

Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure what you mean by "compromise the performer by capturing them between expressions". Are you suggesting that he was about to say something, or transitioning from one expression to another? I've got 4 or 5 exposures in a row with that expression on his face, so he held it for a little bit.

The cool shot is #2. I look at that picture and know exactly who's holding the guitar...
