i wanted to work on getting him lunging out on the water after food. i didnt get quite enough shutter though (ill take my 300 next time), and it focused on the water drops in this one!

not a textbook shot, but i love the action

this little green was pretty pissed when the tricolor walked right in front of his hidding spot, and here he is showing his agression, as usual.

Good shots. I like #4 the tri-color portrait. As for the blur in 2 and 3 you had 1/640th. I think the shots looks like they may have been front focused but that quick strike is hard to get. On the 20d you can go to ISO 400 with no problems too.

Yes, i could have gone to 400, but at the time i thought 640 was going to be enough. anyway, the first is most definitly out of focus, and the second one i think is a mix of OOF and just how fast the bird is.

thanks for the comments everyone, appreciated!

Excellent series and well exposed captures Billy. Like em all but he first - "waiting in the shadows" - is just fantastic and quite unique.
