She gets tired of me taking her picture, but she is so photogentic at the same time

Nice looking chocolate lab. Got one myself.

Suggestions: It looks like you focused on her nose, when it's all about the eyes. Having the eyes in focus is crucial. To get both in focus, as well as maybe the front half of her body, dial up your aperature to f/8 to increase depth of field and focus at the middle of her snout. Play around with aperatures and focus points until the get the DOF you like.

I second RonnieA's comment about the eyes. The camera, on AF, usually focuses on the nearest "object" (in this case the snout). But as human beings, the first thing we look at is the eyes, not the snout.

just put it on centre point focusing, then focus the eyes and recompose the shot.

she is beautiful, i will try and get some of my black lab tonight.

Actually, I think I did have it focused on the eyes originally and she moved. I was going for the real shallow DOF, but I did want her eyes in focus.
