Do you actually own (or have serious plans to buy) any Nikon equipment, Ed? Your profile is blank, so I can't tell. If you don't, I have to refer you to section 4.2 of our Terms of Use, where it states that all members must meet that condition.

While I don't deny it's their right and their perogative to 'run their shop' the way they want to (god knows I do mine), but it seems a little....onerous? It could be an anti-trolling countermeasure, but we have our Heavenly Host of Moderators with the Instant-Smite(tm) buttons to deal with the trolls of any shape or form whence they may arise ;)

I'm aware Pekka welcomes all regardless of gear although the topics here tend to be Canon-centric.

Nah ... definately on the whimper side of the Bang<----->Whimper continuum.

They never even banned you, just said you didn't meet criteria for membership: which seems true. I actually reckon you are thinking of going Nikon. It is cooler IMO. Canon is for 'everyman' and everywoman'. Not that cool ;-)a

Hey - I can sell you a Nikon if you want in there. I paid, lessee, $35 for it about 15 years ago, so adjusting for inflation, depreciation and the like it's worth about, oh, $0.25 now. I'll even throw in the who knows how old ISO 400 Fuji-something 36 exp. roll that's still got 12 shots on it. Nikon SmileTaker fixed focus, ? focal length lens. But hey, it's Nikon! I'm keeping the Nikonos though.

I have a dusty old Nikon P&S film camera I could send you so you can maintain your membership. It probably isn't near as noisy as their DSLR's.

That thread right there makes me think that owning a Canon and using POTN makes my day a bit easier.

"Now that Canon has finally answered Nikons year long camera lead".

"Canon in my book is still catching up."

Well at least Canon makes Canon cameras. Semantics. Aside from that Ed, I think you got the shaft. Go buy a Nikon lens cap for a buck and you're in. You can have title to my SB-80 DX that sits in a box, would that help?

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional

Yeah, while I wasn't exactly "banned" (yet) I'm sure it would've happened if I had continued to post. Let's just say that I was politely asked to leave. ;)

Relax, guys. I had no intention on jumping ship. I love you guys too much! Nikon isn't for me. I've always said that if I had started with Nikon years ago I'd probably be over there with the rest of them. Nevertheless, I have a nice warm home here with you all. Got beer?

If they turn up the heat, let me know. I have a Nikon Coolpix I can ship to you. BTW, the shutter lag time between shots compares favorably with the time it takes to ship from me (West Coast) to you.

LOL, good stuff. Am I wrong, or does Nikon not offer any FF DSLR at all?
