LM....That's what you get when you go slumming.
I suspect their requirements are based in equal parts on fear and ignornace.

It's pretty funny how can people be "protective" and blinded, when it comes to "their" company. Btw... unfortunately it's not much different with some people here either Canon needs to update the the aging 1Ds Mark II I agree it's aging for nowadays terms, but why bother putting out new one, when already old and "aging" one doesn't have any competition? It's not a question of "banning", Ed - it's just that sadly, you don't meet the requirements for membership. Well it's their policy, but unless it would be 110% only about tech stuff, this is ridiculous. When it comes to photography, it really doesn't matter if you are shooting with Canon or Nikon. On the end it's still your idea and vision, and right times and shutters. And f2.8 with 1/1000sec on Nikon is same as on Canon (more or less), so I don't see point in "requirements for membership". But it's their site so... PhotoSI

There are many interesting discussions around here based on the perspective of different "photographers." I'm glad this forum isn't exclusive (but I am glad it's Canon centric). ![]() Maybe it just avoids all the pointless arguments about 'what's best' and helps focus on photography rather than 'brand' and 'gear'. Seems a sensible decision and no more or less sensible than open season. Both choices can work. https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1203740

People either agree with it or walk - there's plenty of other forums around.

The Mark III threads show they are drooling over there and pretty angry at Nikon. One guy says how ticked he will be to go to a pro sporting event and see nothing but Mark III's there. The funny part was these threads were all interrupted by the moderators directing them to another Forum, and when I went there, the same moderator directed them somewhere else. It was obvious that the mods did NOT want to see all the chatter about the Mark III as they were in the envy mode and didn't want to hear about the greener grass on Canon's lawn. That was certainly the impression I got over there from several posters. I think Nikon users are feeling kind of ill seeing the Canon pro models so well accepted by the top pros. Gear List

I respect any forum administrators' authority to establish whatever rules they want. Remember, membership is not a fundamental human right, and when we join forums, we do so with the absolute agreement to abide by their rules. If it means you have to be a Nikon owner, that's just how it's going to be. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
