Hello

I bought a new Canon digital camera, but i have problems with computer connection. I am connecting it with a USB cable, but nothing happens (except that xp sound, when you put something in an USB).
These were steps I took:
-instaled driver and programs from a CD which came with camera
-attached usb cable with camera and nothing happened
-camera was found in "Device manager" and in "Scanners and cameras" and no problems were listed
-when I manually try to connect to a camera using program ZOOM browser EX the message is "cannot detect camera".
The other things I have done:
-reinstall the whole thing again
-tried in all of the USB channels
-tried with a different cable
-downloaded newest USB drivers from MB official site
-disconnected all other devices on an usb, but there was still a same problem

So, in XP everything looks OK, but i still cannot "connect" the camera and download pictures that I took.
What should I do?

Did you switch the camera into the review mode? You might have left it in the camera mode.

I got stuff for taking pictures. :o When things are unclear - It's time to refocus.

if you do a search in this forum under "not recognizing my camera in xp" you'll see others that have had similar problems.

do you have a scanner (canon?) attached to your pc? might be a conflict.
