hello all, i just thought it would share my shots from the first round of Drift australia last weekend,
i only managed to get to the practice on saturday as my weekday employer wanted me 300ish kilometres away early monday morning so i went down sunday and stayed the night.

anyway, here is my pics
i tried a few different angles at my "normal" track some of it worked really well (the first three were shot at 200mm, 1/50 -1/80th of a sec)
as always, constructive critiscism is welcome, im still learning and trying to improve

Great shots Ben!

Yeah, I was there on the Saturday too. Except I was only there for about 45 minutes or so, so I didn't get a chance to get out there and get some shots with the rest of you guys. I only did a quick paddock walk with a wide lens, checked out some of the cars and saw a practice session.

I was chatting with Adam May (Wheelworx Skyline) for a few minutes and he was telling me how he's been drifting for a few years now and really, really wants to head over to Japan and try our the Japan series. Good bloke.

I saw another photo of the S15, from another photographer on another forum, but yours (above) is heaps sharper. Good shot!

Cheers,

Vick

thanks mate, that shot you quoted above was a lucky shot, it was windy, i was using my 70-200 at 200mm and shot that at 1/50th sec,
feel free to post your shots from the pits up, by the time i walked through the pits i had run out of memory space

Cheers bud, :)

I don't want to hijack this thread, there are way too many good shots above. So I'll only post a few of the pits, but I tell ya, the one thing I love about shooting in the paddock is the constant buzz of activity. There is quite literally something always going on around you, at every single angle, all 360 degrees.

From what I've heard, it turned out to be a super weekend. More importantly, it was good to see a West Australian win!

i love shot #3, the rest look good too, feel free to add as many shots as you want
they all show the Other side of what happens at the track (the bits i didnt capture)
i was only there saturday as i spent sunday driving to busselton but from what i have heard it was a great weekend
Adam (borneo) did really well, especially as he was driving someone elses car - and clint was nice enough to lend it to him (clint is a top bloke, he took me out for a hotlap around collie a few weeks back)
saturday morning you could see the advantage that the WA boys had, some of the superdrift competitors were doing better than the DA guys (and girl), although the DA crew were getting better every run
i hope we have another round next year, i cant wait
