nice flash for eos camera...

I was impressed by the shots done using flash delay and long exposure... I want to plunge into that so what would you recommend for my 30D? I need something that I can use for indoor shots too, I'm not too happy with my camera indoors

I'm planning to buy it used on ebay... any suggestions?

580EX or if you want to save a few bucks, I strongly recommend the Sigma 500DG super! Almost the same, and half price.

430EX is a great flash if you don't need the wireless master capabilities.

With just one gun , that's no drawback at all.
If you get the urge (or budget) to go wireless later, then your second gun will be the 580 (or s/h 550).

I'm guessing you want to do some creative stuff with it eventually, like maybe using it off-camera. If so, stay away from the 420EX as it has no manual power adjustment capability.

Maybe look for a used 430EX or used Sigma EF-500 DG Super.
