The 5D [MARK-III, and 30D as well] PICTURE STYLES do not have ANY effect on RAW. They only effect JPG output.

I like to get an idea of what it looks like with just slight sharpening and saturation/contrast. Gives me an idea of the image's potential. If you have image review turned on, the jpeg that shows will be "picture styled", but the RAW file will not. Each RAW has a small jpeg attached. Mac users swear by their computers. PC users swear at theirs.

Sorry, looks like I misunderstood the question.

I shoot RAW and Canon told me the reason was because in picture styles I had the sharpness set to 0. "You don't know how far you can go, untill you've gone too far."

Mar 01, 2007 18:35 | #9 I thought the picture style did not effect raw, but I noticed on the display it did. I guess that is what has confused me. I shoot raw and it has always been on standard. I have been using Rawshooter, then PS cs2 and now Lightroom to process the raw files.
