Hi all,
I have an Interesting question for you legally minded people, please help.
I have recently taken some photos of the F-111s practising for the International show in Melbourne recently, I was located at the back gate of the Amberley RAAF base in Ipswich.
My question is?
If I, using Photoshop CS type the words Royal Austalian Air Force at the bottom of my aircraft image, can I sell this image?

I'm wondering why you would think you couldn't?

Have you asked the RAAF?

Moppie,

Yes.......... still waiting on a reply, apparently you are not allowed to use the words Royal Australian Air Force, RAAF, Air Force, you get the idea.
I have requested permission, I will let you know how it goes.
You would think they would be all for free advertising.
As I was a RAAF Photographer for 16 years with them, I know they were never as keen as the other services to promote themselves.
I bet they are now. Numbers are dropping.

Cindy

Oh,
for those who are interested in what I am up too, here is a few F-111 Montages I have created.
You either love them or you hate them.
Any constructive criticisms are welcome.
I have taken all the aircraft photos just recently.

It is the text that I have to get permission to use, crazy hey.

Cheers

Cindy

Oh, now I understand. People might think that the image came from them.
Nice work on the comp, & good luck getting the permission!

Wonderful work. Love the orange glow reflected in the vapor on the main shot of the 1st montage.

the f111 planes have a unique method of dumping fuel. an engineer overlooked the fact that if you plumbed the fuel dump nozzle near the engine exhaust ports, while in afterburner the dumped fuel ignites!!! oops

the USAF doesnt fly the f111 anymore

Hey............... it's a great attention getter, especially when they fly 100 metres above you, going straight over the top of your head.

This is my favorite shot. Something different.

Cheers

Cindy

Here's the nozzle - not suprisingly, the paint around it is not in the best shape...

Excellant images & montages Cindy!

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Joeseph,
Sorry...if I'm taking over your thread, I am still learning what goes where in this site.
I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or continue on from where you left off.

Great photos, what camera do you use, would like to see you get closer, you have to feel the heat as it goes over. Sooooooooooooo Cool.
I am curious to what you where saying earlier about "HDR Blend to try to even out the range".
What does it all mean. No............. I am not blonde.

I have tried a few things but the dump and burn just doesn't look real when you add density. I guess I am so used to seeing shots with it completely blown out.
Let me know if you get it just right.
Here is a couple of other Montages I have created just to keep you happy, all I have to do now is work out which ones would sell.
Anyone?

Cheers

Cindy
