Joeseph,
Sorry...if I'm taking over your thread, I am still learning what goes where in this site.
I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or continue on from where you left off.

Great photos, what camera do you use, would like to see you get closer, you have to feel the heat as it goes over. Sooooooooooooo Cool.
I am curious to what you where saying earlier about "HDR Blend to try to even out the range".
What does it all mean. No............. I am not blonde.

I have tried a few things but the dump and burn just doesn't look real when you add density. I guess I am so used to seeing shots with it completely blown out.
Let me know if you get it just right.
Here is a couple of other Montages I have created just to keep you happy, all I have to do now is work out which ones would sell.
Anyone?

Cheers

Cindy

no problem at all - I use a 20D with a 100-400 which I find gets the range, but the sharpness isn't that good (probably my technique!)
I was thinking about HDR to blend a few layers of the same photo to try & balance the very bright flame against the often underexposed aircraft - haven't had enough time to do anything more than a quick go which wasn't very successful.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Even if you get the density sorted, it still doesn't look right.

Let me know when it does?

HDR? jog my memory please:o .

Hi all,

For those who are interested. I finally got approval to use my F-111 images.
As mentioned before I was unsure about whether or not I could use the Words RAAF, Air force or Royal Australian Air Force.

Jogging any memories.

Anyway I emailed the RAAF brand manager in Canberra and my friend was right, you are not allowed to use those words.
Also you are not allowed to use any of their Crests , badges or logos. oh and
you are required to send the image you wish to sell to them for written approval as it is their aircraft.

So here is what I have come up with, what do you think??

Hello Photosguy,Hey I have a friend who printed it for me as it is 32in in length and I recently donated it to a 000 Charity Ball, the charity made $900 on it. That 's good for Ipswich, Queensland Aust.I have a few others, go to photorefresh.com.au under what's new F-111's if you would like to a have peek, still working on the website, I will get there, any constructive criticisms are most welcome, especially from you.Chow for now Cin

The USAF retired the F-111 in 1996. It has always carried the "F" designation for "Fighter" but it is like the F-117 Nighthawk in that it is a Strike (or ground attack) aircraft and not used for air superiority combat. The F-15, F-16, F-18 and new F-22 are all primarily air superiority fighters, although they can also carry out ground attack missions. The F/A-18 was designed as a dual-role fighter from the outset, while the F-15 and F-16 were adapted for ground attack later. The upcoming F-35 "Joint Strike Fighter" is primarily a ground attack aircraft, but will likely have an air-o-air capability.

Thanks for that.
Yes............unfortunately, here in Aussy land we get the older aircraft that the Americans have finished with.
The Super Hornet will be taking their place soon here in Amberley.
Oh of course that is until we get the Strike Fighter.

For me.......... I will be photographing them all.

:D It's pretty good for anywhere!
The other ones look good too, but I expect that you'll sell a lot more postcards than posters. Keep at it, & let us know how you're doing.

Thanks for that, I have all my work printed on Photographic paper to keep up with the quality.
I am planting alot of seeds, I can only hope I start getting some sales soon mainly on the Postcards. It's all been word of mouth.
I am thinking of printing up a heap, have them framed and taking them to the local shopping centre to sell in a display, what do you think?

I'm not sure on the price, $600 is a little steep, framer is good though.

Do you mean have someone already with a store sell them? I'd take a few there & ask them if they were interested.

Give it a few months at that price & see what happens. You do give them the unframed option.

It's all been word of mouth.

Are you using them on business cards?

You can have a stand in the middle of these shopping centres for a week. If they don't go well we have a back up plan, there is a shop owner which we will approach afterwards.
Yes I do give them the unframed option for $150 and no I don't have them on my business card.
Why do you ask?
