I don't know if anyone can advise, but I'm looking to set up a small studio mainly to take portraits of friends and their partners. I'm looking for a reasonable starter flash system and currently have a choice of three; two used and one new. The choices are:

Elinchrom 500 3 head system with stands and a few bits & pieces (£650)
Elinchrom D-lite4 kit (£550 new Warehouse Express).
Multiblitz MiniLite 200 3 head system (£450)

The Elinchrom 500 is probably more than I really want to spend, but I will if it makes sense.

Help? Please?

Opinion should have a foundation based on factual evidence, logical reasoning and experience.

Very good choice. I have the D-Lite4 kit, and the FX is probably worth the extra $$

I have the D-Lite2 kit - got it last week. This is my first try with studio lighting and I am very impressed. It is easy to set up and very easy to use. I was worried about the lower power on the D-Lite2, but no issues so far.

Whaty makes you say that? I'm also looking at a kit just now and it's a tough choice! :)
