Nothing like some serious backlight to give you fits. Well, I did my best. (BTW - a flash is a huge no-no at a gymnastics meet)

I really like the last one a lot. Good job working with bad lighting conditions.

I can agree with you on that problem, I shot a wrestling meet that had just one of those windows and it screwed up a couple of shots. I essentially had to avoid facing it... Nice shots with what you were working with!

And yes, a flash in gymnastics is a big no-no!

Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.

Yeah, I walked into that gym and said to myself "You've GOT to be kidding me!"

Funny...I am in the middle of PP 400 shots from Sat's gymnastics meet. I had the same issue. One room had windows along it that made Bars almost impossible.....but truth be told it was real light! Something I don't see to often.

I think you did fine here....using the auto-exposure was impossible. I metered on the kid and set it manually. Lots of blown backgrounds, but that's OK.

Thanks. Yeah, just for fun I took a couple of auto exposure shots just to confirm what I thought they would look like. Yep, silhouettes. The windows and sky looked nice though.

400 shots?! I thought my 250 was labor intensive! And yes, I'm still working on those too. I hope to have them uploaded tonight so the parents can start sending all their money to me. :D

I figure CF cards are cheap...I have four 4 gig cards so I just shoot early & shoot often! ...cull the crud later and move on. DPP batch does a decent job...crop in Bibble and post.

What service do you use for selling shots? I give mine away at the moment and owuld like ot have the parents just pick on-line and order printys instead. Smugmug seems a bit clumsy to me....

I've got one 4Gb card, 3 2Gb cards and one 1Gb card. Four 4s would be awsome. I think one big difference is my 5D won't rapid fire the way yours will. It's only during events like this that I really wish I had that speed.

I was recently steered toward www.exposuremanager.com (external link) for posting shots for sale. I'm just now in the process of getting my site operational. There are things l like about EM over Smugmug, but Smugmug has features I wish EM had, so I guess the jury is still out. I think EM charges less, and they market themselves as a more professional alternative to sites like Smugmug.

If you check them out, I would be interested in hearing your opinion.

You're right. There is one other girl on this team who can out-leap this girl, but every shot I took was either slightly mis-timed (camera's fault, not mine of course) or I would get a great one, but she was facing the wrong way.
