Hey guys

I have a 350D and a ttl flash (not canon). The flash doesn't have a sync port, just the hot shoe. Can you recommend a hot shoe adapter setup so I can shoot with the flash off camera?

Thanks very much

Hi,

To save time i've just copied and pasted this from another post where i answered a similar question -

My 430EX doesn't have a PC connector either, there's a few ways around this, cheap wireless transmitters and receivers. One sits on your cameras flash shoe mount, the other on your Flash guns shoe mount. But i'd read mixed reviews so i bought..

An adaptor to sit on my camera's flash shoe mount (my 400D doesn't have a PC socket):

An adaptor for my flash gun to sit on:

and I bought an extension cable cos that little cable on the flash adaptor doesn't go far!

Does your flash have manual power controls? It will need to have. I didn't actually get my adaptors from 7dayshop.com though i've used them many times and they're very reliable. Thought the hama ones looked a bit cheap so i got mine from http://www.warehouseexpress.com (external link) but unfortunately you can't link direct to there products but if you click: photographic > flashgun accessories > Kaiser. I bought the top two items, one for my cameras flash shoe mount and one for the flash gun and i bought the 5.9m extension cord a bit further down that page. They work a treat

You can buy an optical slave that fits on the hoyshoe from http://www.adorama.com …optical%20slave&item_no=4 (external link)

It is only $17 and you can trigger it from the standard built-in camera flash.
