She lives in my Pergola so if you come over for a BBQ watch where you walk because the web is right in the middle of the pergola.

That's cool how you can see her spinning a web in the first one, like you can see it comign out of her! Also, why is the webbing a golden color?

Thanks for the comments. The web is naturally a golden colour with these spiders. It's about a metre in diameter and she decided to start to repair it as I was watching. Its a very strong web but not overly sticky. The spinnerets seem to extend when she was actively spinning web.

wah #3 looks like she posed for you :) there was one of these in my yard damn fascinating watching her weave and wrap up the flies her web caught for the day, she was so fast it was scary

thanks Michael. You right they move fast. At first I had the camera on the tripod but this just didn't work - I wasn't quick enough. I ended up just setting following the spider and snapping off a few.

Thanks Brian. The web is almost the same colour as the Silk from Silk worms.

I had real trouble with all of the white hairs on the body. I ended up having to mask these off when I sharpened the shot as they just went ballistic.
