This solved my problems. I can now make full use of my (over 6 volt) strobes. It's also nice to not be tethered by a sync cord. No pre-flash issues anymore.

I have a newbie question- I have 2 AB800's & a AB400- I could fire all of these with this set up and 2 extra slaves? I have never worked with these before, but am completely fascinated that they would be good for my wedding formals. Thanks for your time

With any radio or infrared trigger system (the one linked above seems to be infrared), you can use one receiver to fire one strobe and let the built-in optical slaves on the ABs trigger the rest.

But this might be problematic during wedding formals if there are other people in the vicinity using flash. If this is a concern then you would want a receiver for each strobe.

Hi Justbe and jillybean,
Yesterday, I am still wonder how to sold same problem with yours. I tried to search many threads hope that can help me to sold the problem. at last, I got one, advise to order the 16 channels radio slave... for $27.50 include shipping. Base on thread, I hope it can help. If it's not, I will try the one Just Be has. Thanhs Just Be.
Because I have 3 Adorama flashes, with 100Ws each. I plan to have 1 or 2 AB800. So I have same question with Jillybean.
One more question I have now is how many ftop different between the Adorama flash (100Ws) and the AB800 (800Ws)? Can they work together or not? In case,If we have to power down the AB800 to fit with the Adorama100w, we will throw away our some benefit. Thought!!!!!!!
I appreciate for all your inputs.
TMT

Sure, they can work together.

But read the specifications carefully. The AB800 is actually 320 watt-seconds. The "effective watt-seconds" ratings are just marketing hype.

Assuming the 100Ws rating of the Adorama unit is accurate, then the AB800 will give you about 1 1/2 stops more light.

Thanks Curtis N,
I will go for the AB800s. And the setup I plan in my head is
B800 for main light
B800 for backlight
100w for fill light
100w for hair light.
100w for flexible use
What do you think, Curtis N ?

That should be a nice combo that you can use in many different ways.
