A new line of GE-branded digital cameras and a photo printer will be introduced at PMA on March 8. The General Imaging GE product line will consist of eight cameras and one printer, set to ship in April.

Hiroshi Komiya formerly president of Olympus is the new CEO.

A company statement said that image stabilization, high ISO and panoramic stitching will be common to all models and it higher-end models will offer up to 12-mega pixel resolutions and a 3-inch LCD screen.

It will be interesting to see who is making this product line for GE.

The more competition, the better! (for us consumers, that is! ;))

I'm sure it can also be used as a blender or a coffee maker :)

Hmmm... funny, I always think of refrigerators.

GE is involved in everything. Transportation, Electronics, Jet Engines, Appliances, Financing...

When I think of Canon I can't help thinking of photocopiers and my fax machine! Even so, GE would be better inventing a sub brand for international use. They are hardly related to consumer electronics and in the UK not really an identified consumer brand at all.

Funny, Siemens has almost the identical problem over here, though I undertand that their products are quite widespread in Europe...

When I think GE I think NBC!
