Burrowing Owl @ Salton Sea

Salton Sea, CA - Burrowing Owl - June '06

From a trip last June to the Salton Sea. This bird came out of the burrow that my old friend "Guard Rail" uses. I guess that this is a child or
grandchild... who knows for sure?

I just looked at these again on my good monitor, and they're simply wonderful. #1 could be a studio portrait.

Oh my, I saw that out of place tail feather and thought, thats a wren owl, then saw what it was.

Very nice shots. These guys are cute, and mostly unafraid and like to pose unless you get too close.

great shots! #3 is a fun one, but #1 is my fav, the DOF is perfect, and the smooth BG is very nice.

I thought I had commented on these but it must not have gone through. These are absolutely WONDERFUL! I want to come visit and take some shots! I could find none of these in Florida and would love to get a shot or two. Gosh those are good!
