Condyk, You are correct I should paste bank details but to be honest with you if you check Bens last e-mail to me that was 24 hours ago not 3 days as stated I asked him to decide how to pay then and was waiting on a reply. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO. If he waited instead of being so impatient he would have had a reply now. This thread has now cost me too much time. Thread I am talking about below.

Ben, Either online with online banking or at branch, alternatively pay direct to Abbey bank. A cheque is fine too? Please advise. Ian.

I need to know exactly what I have to do to do a bank transfer. Do I just give you some information, or do I have to physically go to my local bank and give them certain information?
This is what confused me before when thinking of purchasing from you.
Thanks in advance
Ben

What is the best price you can do one for me? Also in May I would like to get a 1.4 Canon converter as well.

Also, and this is the important bit. What is the easiest way to pay? Can I give you my VISA card details, or if by bank transfer, what do I have to do as I dont have a clue?
Thanks again!
Ben Daniels

Millions of business world-wide explain what a customer needs to do to make a bank transfer. For example, I don't have to ring Powergen or my credit card company to ask how to pay them. They tell me in advance. I would suggest that you just copy and paste the same standard 'these are my details' info whenever anyone asks to pay via that route. The details are always going to be the same. Also, you need standard details from them, so again a simple copy and paste.

Hi Ian,
Waahoooooooo I have your details now. Thankyou :D

As the above poster stated, and as i thought as well. Why not add any payment details at the bottom of every PM or email message? It would save anyone saying, "wow thats a great price for the lense/camera, now what do I do?
Then you have to mail back giving the details. All time consuming for you, when it could have been done in the first message?

I'm really glad that you are busy. Good for you. :D I have my own business and am trying to build it up, and I can put myself in your position of getting to a point, where you say do I need someone to help me, and all the associated problems and concerns that that brings! I am not at that stage yet, but I can understand that it's not easy.

Again, and I stress that I KNOW that you give an excellent service 99.9% of the time. There is no way in the world I would send off hunderds of ££'s to someone on the internet if it wasnt for the fantastic reviews I have read about you for months and months on this forum!
This is why I was so disappointed with the lack of information.
Perhaps this slight hiccup will help you to a degree in future? We can always keep learning about business. I should know! :)

Thanks again
Ben

Hi Ben, I appreciate your business and glad we got there in the end. I am hesitant about posting my bank details on every email as I'm sure you appreciate. If someone tells me they want to pay by bank transfer I am happy to give my details to conclude the deal. I have been working this way for 2 years now and this is the first time there has been an issue.
Once again thanks for your business. Please remember I need your full postal address so I can have it ready for postage. Good luck with building your business, What type of business is it?
Regards,
Ian

Thank god this saga has been sorted out, as I said before Ian is a top bloke who is very busy. Its funny how some people feel they have the right to tell the guy how to run his business:evil: (copy this in to save you time etc) I am sure Ian knows how to copy and paste and that if he wanted to do it that way thats how it would be done
Read his feedback he must be doing something right, this is the first negative thread I have seen on Ian and it has managed to get resolved with the buyer getting what he wants at the price he is very happy with. Cut him some slack folks for gods sake
Cheers Ricky
PS if the issue is now resolved why not lock the thread so that folk like me who are a bit pist by it dont keep posting ?

Who are you to think you have a right to stick your nose in on his behalf then?

AFAIC you come across as a brown-noser. I doubt he needs you to stick up for him as his reputation is first class. You after a discount or something?

Point you have missed in criticising me and the OP is that, for me, it's not about 'having the right' ... it is about caring enough to be bothered to make a suggestion rather than assume.

When you are self employed you will take advice from anywhere if it helps your business and you will take it or leave it as you see fit. I would expect him to do that. If you offered me advice about how to run my business I would do the same, not try and shove it back down your throat.

I agree ... this thread should have been finished and it would have been had you not resurrected it to gain brown-nose and clever dickery points.

Condyk I will PM you later when I have the time to respond, but I will not do it on here. I will not lower myself to a pathetic slagging match for all to see.
Ricky

I hate to have started this.:(

All I wanted was advice to purchase from a vendor who has an impeccable record on POTN, and I was getting nowhere!

As I am the OP, I ask a moderator to close this thread asap.
Thank you
