Dude, if that's the worst miss you've had, you better get used to it.
On time I came across a bald eagle sitting in a tree not 30 feet away. The camera was on and ready to go, but he chose that time to fly away...
Or the time I was walking back to my car and came across 2 white tails just browsing and chewing and looking at me. But I had taken my last picture - OF SEA GULLS - so I was heading back to the car for more film.
Or the time I watched a red tail hawk dive bomb a field mouse THREE TIMES before he succeeded in getting the little bugger. Of course I had the wide-angle on the camera because I was shooting a tree - the telephoto was back in the car. I got a picture of him though. He's the 157th pixel down in the photo.
Or the time I came across a 3-foot long line of ants marching across a trail, each carrying a piece of I-have-no-idea. Do you think I had the macro lens that day?
Or the bald eagle that I *thought* I saw fly over my head about 30 feet up. But the smarmy ornithologist-wannabe next to me said it was a seagull, so I ignored it. Well Mr. Birdy-Poop then looks through his binoculars and shouts "You're RIGHT! It's an immature BALD EAGLE!" Of course he was far out of range by then... I still did manage to get a picture of him:

I really wish I just had the memory instead, since this picture is a very painful reminder.
Dude, I could go on. And I've only been shooting for 6 months. I don't even want to think what this list would be like in 10 years.
