I just got my first L. 70-200 2.8 - Man I have played with it for all of 10 mins and I can already tell I don't ever want to put it down. Focus is amazingly fast and accurate. No hunting, just BAM, sharp. Zoom ring is like butter and lock to lock is a short twist. Ahhh, I'm in love:D

I've got a fever and the only cure is more L glass!

Chris

When one of you becomes "disapointed" in it I'll gladly take it for 1/3 price.

Chris

Unfortunately its not a cure, you may see reduction of sympotms but they tend to come right back after a short while of being exposed to this forum. There are only three options currently available.

#1, the 12 steps of L-cholics anonymous, these are the 12 steps away from your local Pro camera shop, most afflicted people fail at about step 3 and then take the final nine steps towards the retailer.

#2, stop reading the camera forums and get out there and shoot. Trouble is that because of the length of night you have to do something when its dark. Which leads to rapid re-infection.

#3, accept your disease, know that there is no hope. Try and space the purchases as far apart as you can. The final phase is when you have exceeded your upper gear limit, have more gear than you can lift, have no money and can quote the full spec of your lenses by memory.

Welcome to ongoing artistic creativity and total poverty.

Best regards

I got mine a few days ago and its also blowing me away, if thought the IS on my EF-S 17-55 F2.8 IS was good ... but the IS on this 70-200 F2.8 IS is nothing short of amazing, I was actually purposefully wobbling mine around to see it in action and its amazing how much shake it locks out !

I already have the 70-200 F4 L but am doing weddings this year and so needed the low light and IS capability and I can see already its going to get a lot of use this year.

Need to try and get a duck today to properly celebrate it arriving :)
