Very simple... I want to use this pic a one of the shots in my portfolio. Which do you think is a better version? Please feel free to PP another copy if you have a better idea for the PP of this shot. I am personally leaning more on the color version, but what do you think?

I don't think it is as sharp as it should be. A soft focus used? I think that was a miss and not such a hit- it is just a matter of a few degrees. This is hinders the potential good bits with the photos. I have to say I like the lighting. All I could do was add a filter affect and crop it a lot.

Colour is tops for me here.

Thanks for the detailed critique. I may want to reshoot it, actually it was a long exposure on a tripod, and I light painted the rose into the frame. The movement of the light caused the softness (much worse softness on others in the series).

I may have to hit it with an off-shoe flash to tighten up the edges.

So far it is color FTW... That is sorta what i figured.

I will take B & W. The dark lines formed by the shadows really contrast the other shades of the flowers.

Beinging to rediscover this long lost color scheme (hey B & W are also 2 colors yeh, since my kindergarden days).

cheers

I'd say color for the simple fact that part of the white is blown in b&w.

i'd say colour too. this one is stunning in the colour version but the black and white doesnt do as much for it as b&w could for another shot in your portfolio maybe.

i think the color for sure and I really enjoy the tone of the flower. I think it is a nice shots. If I had to be critical I would say that the light is a little bit too hot and the angle of the light a little too sharp.
