Well this is rather interesting...I had thought that Canon and Kodak severed ties with each other. This is the latest Canon/Kodak collaboration. It is out there, releases 18 Mar 04. Here are a few places to look it up:
http://www.dpreview.com …s/Kodak/kodak_dcsslrc.asp (external link) or http://www.kodak.com …l?id=0.1.18.18.5.14&lc=en (external link) for the Kodak themselves. I am guessing the price will be about $4K. It is also 14MP and full frame

What are the thoughts???

Waiting to see how it is when it actually appears. It is close to the Nikon-mount version that just came out, and the reviews are not good on it. However, some of the propaganda for the Canon version suggests that Kodak has made some changes. Time will tell, but a full-frame for $4000 is very tempting... ?!

A couple of things:
First, the Pro SLR/c isn't a Canon/kodak collaboration. Canon has nothing to do with the body part as in the past, but it's a Sigma body, very similar to the SD9/SD10, but with a Canon mount and Kodak electronics.
Second, the SLR/n (the Nikon mount sibling) has some positive reviews, most from the same people who hated the Pro 14n, as Michael Reichmann, so it seems to be a very capable camera. Not as good as the 1Ds, but at that price tag, it's still a very attractive option.

Ok, I shoulda looked back futher then just plain post. My bad, sorry! I feel I have beaten another dead horse. I haven't been too active of late, woking mega hours and it is taking the "me time" (goof off/funstuff time) away.

I am still around, but not forgotten. I was looking at the initial stats and they look good and I wouldn't jump ship till it is out, if ever. I have heard that the N****n version of the Kodak Pro 14N sucked. There is one caveat, any camera can suck if not used the way it was intended.

I mentioned this in late Dec last year that I got to hold the Pro 14N, more out of curiousity than anything else. It had a TS lens on it and this person worked part time at the Travellodge where I was staying whilst up in Hull. His real job was to do the pics of food you see on boxes, favourite fast food place, and suchlike. Like I said before, it was really a grasp on the top or bottom (forgot which) to grasp it. It is that deep on the bottom. I brought the 10D/Big Ed and 16-35mm F2.8L lens on it. We chatted for some time and it was rather interesting.

Now would I jump ship...nope, not until the frame rate pics up a lot! There are times when the burst comes in real handy, like airshows (with say the Thunderbirds, or Blue Angels, MiGs, etc flying just under the speed of sound) and well, you never know when you might need it. That said, I'm gonna have to wait for now on a faster camera. The 10D will have to do for now. The now woefully slow 3FPS for 3 sec will be the weakest link but that is where some creativity comes in.
