I am a sports shooter in mid Michigan (hoopmatch.com) and have decided to replace my 20D with a 1D Mark III.

I'm guessing I'll also need a new carrying case or camera bag since the one I'm using for the 20D is rather small.

Can anyone recommend a sub $100 case or bag that will do the job?

I don't want to carry a lot of extra equipment. Just the camera, two lenses and a spare battery.

Hi, I would recomend a Lowepro Slingshot 200AW, the 100AW will probably be too small.

I second that suggestion....the slingshot is an all around great bag.

The lenses I will carry are all Canons: 85mm, 35mm and 100-300mm zoom. If I continue the pattern I've established, I'll never carry the 85 and the zoom together; only one of those with the 35.

Crumpler 7 and Tamroc 5612 look like good bags, but are more than I want to spend. Tamroc has more capacity than I need. As I said, I just want to carry one EOS-1D Mark III, two lenses and a spare battery.

In my opinion if you get mark III paying extra 110 bucks for descent camera protection is nothing compare to camera value. Surely, you could go for cheaper one but don't forget tamrac provides special patented technologies to keep your camera shock and water safe, eventually its only your choice and of course its up to you...

If your gonna spend $4,000 (or whatever US price is) on a MKIII cant you afford to splash out a couple of extra dollars to get a well recommended bag ?

Yes, I second the idea of getting the perfect bag for your set up, dont settle for a bag that wont work well for you because of the price, bags usually last a long time, its worth the investment.
