Hello to all !
need help to resolve some situation :
Try to describe as best as I can, I have 350D (with or without 530EX it`s not important) and two portaflash 336VM with umbrelleas, so using it all together I`v got dark picture, And the question is not about aperture or stops, itš maybe sinhronization between camera and portaflash. For example I setup a 530 EX shot to object front, to ceiling everything is OK, but if I take just one portaflash set full or 1/2 or 1/4 it`does not matter I get dark picture

PLEASE I start feeling DESPERATE !!!!!!!!!!!

Set the 580EX to manual mode and turn the power way down (like 1/16 or so). Most likely your are using ETTL mode on the 580EX and the preflash is triggering your other flash units.

This means when the shutter opens to gather the exposure, your other flash units are recycling.

Setting the 580EX to manual negates the preflash.

You can also just get rid of the 580EX and use a cord.

Enjoy! Lon

Get yourself an inexpensive hotshoe to PC adapter for your 350D's hotshoe.

There are available at most good camera stores and various other places. You just put this small inexpensive device on your hotshoe, and attach the PC cord directly to the adapter.

Enjoy! Lon
