On my last day in Antigua I spotted this guy on a wire in the distance, as you will see he let me get pretty close :). Thank you for looking. C&C welcome.

Excellent series, and you did get very close. I think it depends on the area and what the kestrels are used to. I have had them fly right next to me and sit. Did you take these in the states?

Thanks Dennis and Rob. Dennis, I took them in the caribbean, on the island of Antigua. Don't see them too often so I was excited as you can imagine.

Excellent series. You did quite well here.

They are beautiful little birds, but hard to get close to in my area.

Good job!

Same here, and add the rough legged hawk, blue heron and any species of duck near a bridge...:D

Well done Sean, he looks a little thin, but I guess you wouldnt need a lot of insulation in Antigua.:D

I guess Kestrels are more laid back on the islands, like everyone there. In this neighborhood you're lucky if you can even ID them before they're gone.

Thank you Calicokat, Phil, village idiot, marco, Trevor, hTr, Mitch, Elisabeth, T.D and joayne, your comments are very much appreciated. It seems that they are much more timid in the USA than on the islands, from what most of you are saying.
