Dec 26, 2019 12:37 | #4232 Scanning and organizing the first of about 4 totes of old photos, this was in '92. Too cute not to share. Going through old photos brings back a lot of memories, but sometimes the computer screen gets a little blurry. unclejohn Goldmember More info | The top one I like. Good composition. Worth spending some time on perfecting the colors etc. Yes, old photos can be a gold mine. I don't know anything. But I know other things.

I've got to learn color correction. I do some with Photo Gallery, but don't have Lightroom or any of the other software. Which one you reckon would be best for working with scans of photos? TerryMc

unclejohn Goldmember More info | I use Lightroom, the latest (and maybe last) version you can by to own rather than having to pay monthly rent. Color correction with it is easy if you know in which direction you want to correct it. That is where I have my biggest trouble, though I'm getting better at it. There is a blue-to-yellow slider and a red-to-green slider, and also you can adjust the eight colors individually. Quite powerful, and main features are intuitive although you'll have to study the instructions to figure out the workflow and how to do fancier stuff. I'm happy with it. I don't know anything. But I know other things.

unclejohn Goldmember More info | Another thing, Terry. I use my Epson V600 scanner (I like it) at the highest resolution that doesn't make the files too big to use, up to 12,800 dpi. Even if a lower resolution gives me as many pixels as I think the picture will need, I get smoother gradations with higher resolutions. I don't know anything. But I know other things.

Any of you experts would like to comment??? I bought myself an Epson 550 for Christmas, haven't unpacked it yet. These were scanned on a Kodak Verite 50 and touched up a bit on Photo Gallery. I bought the Epson primarily for old negatives, but will try it with photos as soon as I get it unpacked. TerryMc
