Hi everyone

This is my fist post. I have owned my camera for about a month now and it has worked really well untill today. Please see attached image.

The only thing that has changed in my setup is a new pc with windows vista pre-installed. I have formatted my SD card and no change. About 80% of pics are fine.

Some of them show strong banding of half light, half dark horizontal bands. If anyone could help i would be very grateful.

Regards. Peter, Helsinki

we can test this one really simply...

how do you upload the pics from the cam to the pc ?... do you use some kind of card reader?, or you just plug the cables and upload via usb with Canon's soft?.

Can you see the pics on the cam?, do they look ok?... Because, if they do look fine on the cam, it means something is going on with the "transfer" part.

Just to be sure, you could switch sd cars (the one you have, with the one that came with the cam)... This will tell you if there's some kind of card problem....

Good Luck.

Greetings,
Canon S2 IS

Thanks for your reply Sandman.

I checked the images on the camera and they look fine:) I went to the Canon website and downloaded the latest version of Zoombrowser.

I have tried getting the images through the built in card reader on the pc and by connecting through the usb cable but the images are still getting corupted during the process.

This must be something to do with Vista.l Please help if you can. I searched the forums but cannot find anything related to this issue.

Regards, Peter, Helsinki

Is this your only card? Have you still got access to your old computer, or another non-Vista computer you can try transfers on? If they come through OK then, it's Vista. If they're also corrupted, the card's gone bad on you.

Hi Jon

Thanks for your reply. I have tried your suggestions and it works out just fine so it is clear this is a vista issue.

Has anyone got any suggestions? Settings i could change? another way to upload? anything?

Regards, Peter

Have you tried using Explorer/File Manager to transfer the files from the card reader to your hard drive, or are you using Zoom Browser for the transfer?

Probably a ZB/Vista driver issue. I'm not planning to move to Vista any time soon.
