I think you'll like it. I have the 6x8, and only one monitor (for now - where's the evil grin smiley when my wife's not looking  ). It's a bit big for that configuration, but I can see it being perfect for a dual monitor setup.

Mine sits where my mousepad used to sit. I built my own desk and keyboard tray, and purposely built the keyboard tray wider and deeper than standard to accomodate extra equipment. It may be a little snug on your desk, but you'll find a way to make it work.

i have the 6x8 Wacom. Love it, dont use it nearly enough. Im running a small desk though and have two very large screens, 24 and 20 widescreens (best thing since sliced bread). I find i have to have my tablet mapped specifically to my 24 inch screen otherwise it becomes to hard to use. this makes changing tools a bit of a drag as i have them all situated on the 20 inch screen. so it goes. But i think i read somewhere that you can have two tablets mapped to two screens, if this is true, i would buy a 4x6 just for the small screen.

I do hope you enjoy you 6x8. These things are the Computer nerd version of crack. Once its in your blood to use them, you just cant go back.

That's a nice closet to set yourself up in.

I think the laptop should be right under the chair so that you can type with your toes and hands at the same time.

LOL

Well, the room is a little bit bigger than what the image seems to illustrate. The fisheye sort of helps create that illusion. The laptop is normally downstairs or floating around the house somewhere.

But it's not that big of a room. Hence the reason why it's my small corner of the house. ;)

Just a quick update. I don't know why I didn't realize this sooner, but since I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse, I can always move the keyboard up to the desktop where I planned to place the tablet, and put the tablet where the keyboard and mouse are currently sitting. Plenty of space. Problem solved. I guess I'm a little slow on the uptake.

One thought: You'll want the Wacom to be where you can comfortably use it, but you'll also want access to the keyboard, since in PS a lot of things can/must be done by shortcuts, or a combination of keystroke-click...

Yeah, I placed the keyboard and mouse on the actual desktop last night to try it out. It felt a bit awkward at first since I'm used to it sitting where it currently is, but I can still access all the keys and control the mouse with relative ease. I should be able to utilize the keyboard and tablet effortlessly with this modified set-up. And I can always put the keyboard on my lap as well. ;)

I pretty sure I'm ready to get a WACOM tablet. Question is which one? I'm using dual 19" CRT monitors at the moment, and I'm wondering if the 4x6 tablet is sufficient for a two monitor set-up. Or does it really matter? I also have limited desktop space, hence the attraction to the smallest (and least expensive) of the Intuos3 family.

I use an older Grafire 4X6 with a dual monitor setup. My setup has a large CRT monitor for the actual image and a smaller LCD monitor for all my palettes. Because of the small size of the tablet, I mapped the pen to just the CRT monitor and mapped the mouse to both monitors. I find I get better control that way. The WACOM drivers allow you set up different pen and mouse behaviors for different software applications.

I was given an Intuos 9X12 that has a bad cord. Once I get around to getting it repaired by WACOM, I'll probably start using that and I'll probably map the pen to both monitors.
