I went randomly driving today and ended up in Gallatin, TN which is about 10 mins from where I live; it's a town square that seemed popular in a day that has already past. Few walking around; many driving. Saw a DUI/Drug Bust arrest while I was walking around, if that gives you an idea of how this area has decayed in recent years. The styling of the buildings leads me to believe that this was a popular place in the 50s or so even though more modern things have been added since.
C&C Wanted.

All look great to my eye. The vignetting is PP?

Thanks, Yup all of these have been edited in some way or another to enhance the overall feel and style, including the vignetting on some shots.
Thanks again.

I like the what I'm going to call 'dark contrasty feel', can you explain exactly what that is? Any chance of a before and after example and brief PP explanation?

The PP generally goes as follows:
Levels
Contrast Bump
Slight Curves Adjustments on Individual Color Channels
Slight USM
Vignetting via Lens Correction
Then, if I desire, apply a special effect like those from Kubota (external link)

The reason I like this image so much is because Gallatin really is in the gutter.

(Nice) series. Your capture of details and the PP gives a sense of blight that must be what you experienced in that area. I would love to see pictures of the people over there. Thanks!

ease up tiger. there are two ways in which a thread receives comments (1) if your photos are exceptionally good, or (2) you've been active in this sub-forum. don't forget we are in a community where it is a give/take situation. Unfortunately few hit in category 1, and quite frankly i don't recall your username alongside any constructive criticism in here.

as for your photos, 2, 3 and 7 work for me. i'm not a big fan of the minimal telephoto style unless there's a lot of detail to keep my eye entertained. the PP is a nice touch, adding a vintage dreariness to the area - the style reminds me of a retirement village. how bad of me.
