Ok, here's the problem. I have a panorama of Kefalonia and Ithaki which I shot last September, but I don't think my PhotoShop skills are sufficiently advanced to get the best out of it.
Here's the panorama as best I've manged it:
![]() | Byte size: ZERO | Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE |
and clicking on it will take you to a larger version (approx 4000x400 pixels, 567kB) in my SmugMug gallery.
After I'd stitched the pano I was concerned that (a) the shadows at each end (in the nearby trees) were very dark, and (b) overall there wasn't much punch to the colours. I've tried using the PhotoShop tools to manipulate shadows, highlights, saturation, brightness, contrast, etc. but I just can't seem to get to an appropriate balance.
Can you do any better? The attachment below consists of four vertical slices from the original shots: the trees from shot #1 (on the left), some scenery from shot #3 and shot #7, and the trees from shot #9 (on the right). I corrected the white balance when I converted from RAW but otherwise these have had no enhancement. Please feel free to have a go at applying global changes so that all four slices look OK. And if you get a decent result, please let me know how you did it.
If you'd like me to send you a version of the complete pano (before I "enhanced" it) to play with instead, please let me know, and please indicate what sort of size you'd like. (The original is about 20,000x2000 pixels - a litte cumbersome!)
Thanks in advance for your help.
