Looking at a Tamrac 5612 Pro at Henry's in Ontario. Anyone have opinions on this company. I know they've been around forever which is kind of a good sign. Like to hear first hand how good or bad they are....Free shipping in Canada till the end of March too....!

Henry's is a very good camera store that is franchised. However whichever store you enter, the staff should be mostly knowledgeable and it should offer a wide range of good products . I have made purchases using their web site and the equipment arrived well-packed and in quite short order. I have also made many purchases in several of their stores. They stand behind their products and offer good service. I think you'll be pleased when you deal with them. Good luck!

I,ve never had a problem with henrys.. They can be very expensive on some thing but a quik google in canada will tell ya how they are for prices.. I bought a few thing from them and had to exchange a 30D body which they did hassel free for another one.. Just be a smart shopper and compare prices and shipping costs.. Henrys is honest and reliable even though they can be overpriced.

I have bought items from them both in store and off of their Ebay web site
no problems at all

often you can get items off of their EBay site at significantly lower prices than you can from their store. However you have to hope no one else is bidding on it (which often happens because of the volume they put on their site). Have bought three items that way and still cheaper despite shipping costs....

Thanks for the replies, guys. Really appreciate that. Henry's has free shipping till month's end which puts his price in a better light. I've been at this photography thing for over 40 years using film in several brands of 35mm, my trusty ole Hasselblad, and my ancient but wonderful Tele-Rolleiflex. This digital thing is "new" to me somewhat, but I'm really enjoying the "instant" results thing. To be able to come home, download and process with a ton of Adobe add-ons seems like a dream come true for this old timer. Pretty hard these days to "screw-up" a pic that bad it can't be fixed with post processing....although it CAN be done....:o Surfing this forum, one soon realizes the quantity of real talent out there....thanks for sharing it with the rest of us.....

Another thing to remember with Henry's is that if you are dealing with the store (as opposed to online service), make sure you check out competitors' prices. The last few items I purchased from Henry's were made after they price-matched at a lower cost.
cheers,
jim

I was going to say: good products, fine company, but more expensive. I tend to order from B&H. With shipping, duties and taxes, it comes down to be cheaper if you are willing to use USPS and do the waiting game ;)

But if you can get them to price match B&H though!

I've bought a lot of stuff from henry's. do some price checking, as they're not the cheapest around....but I've found they're the fastest shippers around. I get my stuff from them in 2 days max.

just make sure you enter the store with all the information you wanted to know beforehand, everytime I go into the one here they try to give me conflicting data on camera stuff, apparently the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 non-IS isn't compatible on my camera.
