Are there any options for file types in downloading from CF from this camera? If so, what gives best quality image?

You're stuck with jpeg only on the A series. The best quality is achieved by selecting the largest pixel size, and the lease compression. This will give you the fewest possible images any given card (due to the largest file size) but hopefully, the card won't fill up before you can download.)

Next quality level is to sacrifice the compression method to the middle one, (since the degredation is only slightly worse than Super Fine, but still much better than 'normal')
