Yes.... the color is a little red on that one. I was trying to give it a "music studio" kind of feel, so I put a red Gel in the hair light, and let it bleed over a little.
I really do like your B&W conversion though! What did you use for the conversion? I usually use the Channel Mixer in CS2 set to Monochrome; but I'm looking for something a little easier.

I get the idea on the red tones... sorry that went completely over my head...
Here's a re-do on the contrast since the prior poster indicated it was too flat. After having a second look, I can see that he hit the nail on the head.
I think I was trying to keep it "soft looking" because she seems like a sweet soft person, but compared to the next post, it lacked dimension... I bumped contrast and darkened shadows and mid-tones a bit more..
I just play with levels, contrast, brightness and curves to achieve an effect. Then I always add a warm tone because I think it brings more depth to an image... I don't have a science or a tried and true method... The images call out for different conversions and I haven't seen a one-fits-all method.
