Scott... I love your photo... Coincidence that someone has recently asked me to take photos of them with an old truck like this one.. it is in a field of some sort with weeds groing up around it.... I will make an attempt, but this is not my specialty.... Please share on your aperature/shutter speed info. for this shot. I'm thinking aperature of f 5.8 minimum?? I'm in a hot sunny place so the lighting may be the same as pictured here. Unless I can do it late in the day when the sun is setting, which would be really prettty....

well, you asked for it..
here is my first work truck, a shiney new 1999 Dodge Ram...after the Transformer on the telephone pole i parked under, exploded at about 3 AM. This sucker burned for about 40 minutes till the fire dept got out of bed to put it out, but first they had to wake up the night watchman at the power co. to kill power to the street. Wish i had video!

My bike is indisposed at the moment :) I lived but I ended up with a severely dislocated shoulder. It's a long story but this happend at under 25mph. The bike hit a tree. I didn't. The first time that I crashed it... I hate saying that... I hit the dirt at about 70 mph. 30 mph curve, 75 mph bike, indecision, drifted high, loose gravel, BAM, sky, dirt, sky, dirt, sky, dirt. No hospital, no ER, almost totalled the bike. I was wearing a helmet and it was broken in two places. This time around (late May '05) I managed to get my first ambulance ride, my first IV, my first MRI (those suck), my first 4 months of PT, my first morphine (which doesn't work). I didn't have a helmet on. I had no scratches on me. My pants were torn where my car keys rubbed thru but that's it... yet I nearly permanently lost the use of my left arm.

The bike was a 2002 Honda VTX Retro. 1800cc's. I rode it to Colorado twice, California, then back to Tombstone, AZ, and then home again last March. It was a great bike. I loved doing 800 - 900 miles a day on it. It cruised easily at 80mph... and 140mph sustained stretches were comfortable but fuel didn't last as long :)

I'm sorry to say that she was totaled...

Beautiful R1. True story... I had my eye on a black R1. I wanted a second bike for the track. I probably would have had it the week after I dorked my bike. But... things didn't work out that way...

How is Mobile? It's one of my favorite cities. I'm supposed to do some work there this month but I've heard that the motels are still full from all of the reconstruction. I need to get over to FL to visit my son too (Hurlburt Field near Ft. Walton Beach)

Mobile's pretty good.. Might try the Hampton Inn in Daphne for a room.. Don't go for the one in Mobile, it's in bad shape.. If no luck, let me know and I can call in a few favors.. We often fly people in for business so I got connections.. :-) I know I sure miss Dallas.. having the motorsports ranch right there rocked..
