That's an awesome shot! Although, some strange distortion going on with the wheels... I'm guessing because you had to use an ultra wide angle if you were in the garage. what did you use for the highlight?

Thanks! The front wheels were actually slightly turned away because it wasn't positioned specifically for this photo, it was just how I had parked it last time I pulled in. I noticed it looked a little off after I was done and didn't feel like going and doing it over. The lens was zoomed to 20mm according to the exif and was maybe 12' or so from the car.

The light was a rechargeable LED strip light that is about 12" long.

Here is another I did the next day, but not sure I like this color as well as the blue.

Wow, I really dig that one too... maybe a little more red on tops of fenders, but I love the style of both photos. I gotta find me one of those LED light things, and a cleaner, bigger garage, lol. I wonder, the lines of the profile look good enough that you might be able to shoot the wheels separately and get this to look more like a 200mm shot. Do you walk in front of the car with the light, or is it on a pole or something? I really wanna try this someday

My car. I'm tidying it up bit by bit, and I'm hoping to change the engine to a 2.0L Duratec over the winter for an easy 180-200bhp. It currently has a 1700cc Crossflow with 110bhp. For the cost of 10-20bhp extra on the Crossflow, I could get a more modern engine with an extra 70+bhp.

200bhp is about the most you would want in such a light car. Any more can apparently become difficult on public roads.

What kind of car is that? Wheels and windshield look kind of Miata, is it a kit of some sort? I like it.

It's a Fisher Fury, which is a kit car. It was originally developed in the early 90s and adapted from a Lotus 7 style chassis with a full body. The wheels are 14" Minilites and the windscreen is from a Lotus Elan. I think it's a bit smaller than an MX-5. I describe it to people as a sort of cross between an MX-5 and a Jaguar E Type.

There's another option for the bonnet and you can have a wind deflector instead of a full screen. A deflector saves a lot of weight over glass, wiper motor, washer bottle etc, and it reduces drag. But it also means you'll be eating bugs or wearing a helmet everywhere.

HERE'S a photo that gives a sense of scale, although I think that man is unusually tall anyway. That one has a deflector. I have a few more Fury photos on my Flickr account.

Had this in the back of the garage and it was time to get it out for the summer weather that should be here sometime...so probably the last one like this. There are a few more cars, but I don't think their colors would have the same glow as the anniversary red paint.
