Have acquired an S3 due to S1 malfunction. Is there a problem using the 52mm accessory tube and my existing 52mm lenses, etc. instead of rebuying all 58mm stuff?

Thank you

If it fit the S1, it won't work with the S3 so you'll probably end up buying all new things for the S3 anyways. I'd verify that for sure but that's what I was told when buying for my S2

Canon Rebel xt with kit len, Sigma 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC, Canon S2IS, & not enough time to use them all.

If your 52mm S1 lens adaptor doesn't ft the new S3, just buy a new lestube from Lensmateonline.com. Then you can use you 52mm accessories with the new S3.

The new tube should be here tomorrow from Lensmate but I just had a case of afterthought jitters I guess.

You might encounter some problems with using the converter lenses from the S1 with your S3. I have heard that they arent as compatible as one would think.

Let us know how it does work though.

My S1 tube will not fit the S3.

There are two adaptor tubes available for the S3 and I chose the 52mm one in order to utilize the accessories I already had for the S1.
