Yes there are differences but if someone were to put one on w/o you knowing you wouldnt be able too tell the diff between the two. Thats the feel, now as for the buttons, there are some minor differences but nothing Im going to solve by doubling the price.

I used the heck out of it.. it never had any problem of any kind. It stayed on the camera the whole time, never came off. When I sold the camera - through here btw - the buyer got himself a great camera with a perfectly good grip on it. I have large hands, and with a smaller sized light camera body like the XT - the grip was perfect. Recommended without hesitation. I am the crispy noodle in the vegetarian salad of life

After useing both there is no major difference IMHO. The shutter release is a tad 'softer' on the Opeka grip is all I've noticed. 50D & XTi w/Grip - Kit 18-55mm,75-300mm,EF 24-85 IS, 50mm 1.8, 100mm 2.8 macro, 100-400L,580ex,RC-1,(2) AB400s, RF602s ,SoftBox/Barndoors/Brolly Box/Sekonic L-308S Lightmeter

I was very pleased with the service and quality.

This is a VERY VERY different model the the Canon BG-E2(N) mold. I am actually in the process of returning mine as we speak (got it yesterday) as the shutter release buttons do not work AT ALL due to a faulty switch. However that is not the only reason for my returning it.
