OK my Biology lab has a tank of Stick insects and there are currently too many so my teacher said she will have to cull some off, unless any of us want to take some home...

Now Stick insects can't be that much work? lol- gonna have a conservatory/greenhouse soon so it will be warm in there- but can keep them out of direct sunlight- no shortage of leaves in my garden- I will read up on looking after them properly later

I have a spare old fish tank- about 5 gals with light so no probe there

But should I adopt them? Probably only like 4 or 5 but I could get some awesome Macro shots of them- especially if I get a flash (thinking about getting one this week for the Easter Hols)

So just vote your opinion... Thanks

I voted for you to adopt the critters. They'll be fun to watch and photograph.

How long do they live for- a year? Something like that isn't it?

Hiya Richard,

Go for it they're easy to look after, I used to keep em when I was a kid, same to see em go to waste.

I also kept Ferrets for years, I had 18 three of which I worked, they are the most wonderful little creatures with an amazing personalities  ,

They lived in luxury, they had a three story converted ' Wendy House ' to live in, 250 feet of underground piping to run through & at the other end was a converted corner Aviary 16 feet high & 25 feet across the longest edge with insulated ' Nests ' for em.

Wish I still had em now :(

Cheers for now
Mark

The Butterfly house in Edinburgh would probably be glad to scatter them amongst their plants. My local BH has some - they are hard to spot though.

What's wrong with returning them to the wild?
