I have narrowed my options down to albums from Asuka and GraphiStudio. I think the Asuka album is a great mid-priced album and the GraphiStudio will be my high end version. I'm looking for guidance from those that use these vendors on product and pricing. What size and page/photo count is most popular in your business and whay do you typically charge for these albums?

I don't do Graphi, but I charge $250 for a 7x7 30 page Asukabook, $350 for an 8x8, 30 page Asukabook (my biggest seller), and $450 for an 10x10, 30 page Asukabook. I use the regular bookbound hard cover books NOT the EX books.

Jamie, why don't you want to use the EX Asuka books?

Jamie, why don't you want to use the EX Asuka books?

Honestly, I haven't seen an EX book so I don't know what they look like, but they are almost twice the price of the book bound hardcover (which my clients go ga ga over). I can create and produce a RTB self mount album or Flora Elite matted album with real prints for the same price as an Asuka EX, and I'm not sure my clients would swallow the $500 or more starting price tag that I'd have to put on them. Maybe one day I'll actually see one and change my mind, but I can't imageine they are twice as good for twice the price...

Now if I only offered Leather Craftsman or Seldex albums at a starting price of $1500, than $500 for an Asuka EX would seem to be a good deal. But I'm not in that price range yet.

Sounds reasonable to me! Thanks!

I used to sell Asuka, but when you put them beside a Queensberry album the asuka doesn't look so good any more. Plus books won't last as long as a proper album. Real albums are big, heavy, impressive things that will last decades.

I've had regular and EX asukabooks. EX have thicker, glossier pages, bit more impressive.

I don't see pricing on Asuka's website ... or am I just stupid?

I'd like to get more info on it, as these interest me very much so :)

They don't publish their prices, as they only deal with pro photographers.

Contact them for pricing.
