B&H Raised Prices Today

I just received my 400 2.8 IS yesterday and am receiving my 5D today and it looks like I was lucky on both. B&H just raised their prices. the 400 I got is now up $300 from what I paid earlier this week. The 5D (due to arrive today) is up $100 from Monday. For once looks like was lucky. Usually they LOWER the price after I buy.

I think they are trying to recover the loss from the mail-in rebates they paid this past winter. LOL.

They still owe me a few hundred bucks from the 2nd batch I mailed.

I don't think that B&H paid any rebates! Canon does that. B&H doesn't get any less when they sell a product with a rebate.;)

I think these are B&H increases, not Canon. B&H didn't pay for the rebates.

I think Canon raised their prices. Another thread was talking about KEH going up as well.

Rebates??? What rebates. All I hear is that no one is getting them mailed back. I am waiting for my 300 as well.

I got my double rebates more than a month ago - mailed early January.
I got an email confirmation on my 2nd double rebates more than a week ago, so should be here in a few weeks.

Did you check the online status of your rebate?

There is a rumor of the 30D, 5D, and 400D rebates in Germany starting April 1st. No mention of how much or if that extends to other countries. Usually rebates are all over but not always. Information was on Northlight. Click on link below: http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/Canon_40D.html (external link)

Not a bad marketing move to put the prices up before slapping on rebates....makes it seem like a better deal than it is.....if they put the prices up $50...then then can offer an $80 rebate instead of a $30 one....little more appealing eh?

i think every time someone on the web types "B&H" it gets saved so when the head guy at B&H googles the B&H he sees 20 bajillion hits come back and goes...Ahhhhh look at all that free advertising, better raise the prices a bit!!!
