I doubt B&H would raise prices at whim. After all, they usually have the best prices on most things, and that's pretty good considering their reputation.

Perhaps they're trying to make up for losses on their PSNOV06 and PSJAN (or any other PS___ codes) abuse. After all, the PS codes do give a good $10 to even $100 discounts on 1000$ range lenses.

Beach Camera also raised their prices. The Rebel XT went from $479.49 to $488. I've been tracking this for a month cause I was buying one for my wife.
Apprently it is Canon who's raising prices... hmmmmm

All I can say .. is this bodes ill for our expected price on the MkIII

If the Yen Vs. U.S. Dollar is fluctuating this much, this may be the very reason the expected $3,999.00 price was pulled from the white paper.

Sigma is looking more and more attractive with these ever rising Canon prices. I've been debating a Sigma 120-300/2.8 or Canon 300/2.8L IS for a while. Now that the 300/2.8L IS is up to $3899 and the Sigma 120-300/2.8 DG is still just $2150 at Sigma4Less, the choice is becoming a lot easier for me. $3899 is about the same cost as a 24-70/2.8L + 70-200/2.8L + Sigma 120-300/2.8 non DG.

I ordered the 400 2.8 L IS, 500 f4 L IS and the 600 F4 L IS just before the raised the price, and I am glad I did ... OUCH... I just got pinched by my wife... Huh... what is this ... Oh a dream!!!!!

They will go back down... You can also all agree that either way.. they are a chunk of cash!

LOL. I was about to say, if you are dropping $20K on a few lenses, $20.5K is really not much more.

Looks like the 30D went up about 20-30 bucks too. It's now $1120, and I just bought one last week for $1076 (that was with the B&H code), but I still think it was $1089 last night.

I thoguht it was 1049

Over the winter they raised the price of the Sigma EX 100-300 by $200. They also raised the price of the EX 120-300 2.8 at that time.

When I emailed them about this they said, "Prices are affected by gas prices. IT was a price jump for most products we carry in the last few weeks". This was dated

I thought it was strange that only certain items saw the price increase. Sounds more like supply & demand to me.
