Just got back from the Lucky 5K and I never found mutau052 unfortunately. After asking 3 persons with Canon cameras if they were mutau052 or a member of the POTN forum and getting the strangest looks from them, I gave up asking and started shooting. I have to say thanks mutau052 for letting me know about this event. It was pretty fun and I saw a few friends that I have not seen in over 20 years!!!!! I'll post up some pics from the run pretty soon. Sorry mutau052, that I never found you. Poor planning on my part. Finding someone at 1:45 to watch my daughter was not helping matters. Hopefully we can try to meet up again in the very near future.

I was there, shooting a 40D gripped with 70-200 2.8 - i was right before the finish line with my wife. Here is the mens and women's winner.

I'm running the half marathon so I'll not be shooting, also the redbud is on April 10th it's one of the biggest races in oklahoma. Check out the site for more info, you can shoot the 5k in spots then walk to the end of the 10k and get some good photos. I'm unfortionatly running the 10k on that one too.

If you need tips on where to shoot for either race let me know I have shot both and ran both.

Hey guys I was notified by a professional photog, Jimmy Belz from Moore, OK., about the 1st official SMUGS meeting taking place here in OKC. I think this would be a great time for all of us POTN'ers to meet up! How does that sound. The SMUGS event is free and I'll let you read up about it from the link. Free to join and these gatherings are free!!!!!!!! Post up here if you are planning to attend the event and we will figure out a place where we can meet up just prior to going to this event and hang out together at the event!

I did some checking and the SMUGs host lives just north of Penn Square Mall. There is a Starbucks just north of 63rd on Western about 1/2 a mile from the host home if some or all of you would like to meet there before going to the gathering.

So she lives in Nichols Hills. Is there an agenda to what is going to be discussed in this meeting?

I would also like to know What will be discussed

They are having two speakers and I think this meeting is about portrait photography but they also mentioned they are there to answer questions about anything and its a forum for us to meet each other and other photogs and its FREE!!!!!!!!! She mentioned there will snacks and beverages as well. I think I saw that mutau052 is registered with the site but not sure if he is going..... That is if his initials are J.E.

I only work about 200 yards from there, but I'm not sure if I'll be attending yet. And yes I'm registered with the group.

Not going to make it duty calls will have plenty of pictures to share though

I'm a Zenfolio customer, but I feel like this might be part marketing for Smug Mug and some about the photography stuff. I kind of want to go, cause I'd like to meet new photographers, but not sure yet.

I asked the question about a hard smugmug sales pitch and they replied that it was not about smugmug it's about photography but there will be some discussion about smugmug accounts for those that are interested. For me, I decided I would go and check it out since I am on the fence about putting my images online and if it was a sales pitch then I would at least get to meet some other photogs from the area and maybe learn a thing or two. I figure if its a bust then I won't go back as it seems they hold these gatherings once a month. You ought to come!
