Its awesome if you have portraits that don't require speed to focus. So for your models, and older people who can listen and take direction, its great. For young kids who move too much, its almost worthless. I have used it about 3 times and just had the speed to focus issue every time.

I just tried it out today it is extremely slow to focus even on my 1DmkIII and man is it heavy! The front element going in and out makes even my 1D move some

I love the 50L, 35L and even 135L. That 85L needs to be redesigned or something. I know its a lot of glass, but wow, just heavy and slow two things I don't want in my lenses.

I started my own little side business, moonlighting from my everyday IT job. Its nothing that is raking in lots of money. I mainly am shooting for fun and knowledge and experience. I'm growing my skills everyday. So a lot of shoots I do for free or for very little money at all right now. Until I feel the quality of my work is worthy of charging professional prices I refuse to charge professional prices or call myself a professional. I'm not. So while it is a little business, that I'm able to keep while doing all my other stuff, I'm in no way a professional photographer yet. Its a creative outlet for me, so instead of a business, I like to call it my art. I'm an artist.
