I'm more interested in what Liam is looking at. Maybe it's out of focus that is taking my attention away from the animal. 1DmkIII and some lenses

I'd maybe alter the composition so the moose wasn't directly above (maybe to the right having it look over his shoulder) and of course have it a bit more in focus. No matter how much you learn, there's always someone who knows more.

Right now the moose and the kid look stacked on top of one another - I would have liked to see the kid more to the left of the photo (since he seems much too centered). A careful selection of the child in PP will take care of this. Canon 7D ~ 16-35mm 2.8 L ~ 24-105mm f/4L IS ~ 100mm f/2.8 Macro ~ 70-200mm F2.8L IS II

I am not crazy about how the moose is OOF either, although I was shooting in a low light situation w/out flash so had to use a very wide aperture. I am new to this, but I am assuming this is why the moose is OOF. I like the compostion though....the moose within the frame that is. 20D
