I love (sarcasm) people who bash other people's work because they don't get it, or the subject doesn't interest them. You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

I really don't care for portrait work or people shots in general, so I don't look at them. If I do accidentally click on one I'll probably pass it over and click on, but if it is exquisite I'll notice. But everything from poor to simply great looks the same to me, so I move on. Why the hell would I bash someone's portrait in this case? That would be senseless. But for someone to basically say "This picture sucks because I don't like cars" is just plain silly. Needless to say, though: "Well look at him now."

I don't much like cars, but that one... It still wows me. You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

What I don't understand is how or why these things sometimes turn so personal. The referenced thread is not a particularly good example of that; this is nothing more than sniveling by one or more people who are pretty clueless about what it takes to get good action photos. I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Thos. You know, those senior moments are happening to me more often now, so I can't tell you what I had for dinner last week, but I do remember a little bit of my 9th-grade Latin. And if we are going there, the plural of forum would be fori, since forum would be a masculine, and the endings would be um, i, o, um, o; i, orum, is, os, is. Rick

I think - but I could be wrong about that, too. But I bailed and went to public school, where my one year of Jesuit Latin let me coast through Latin 2 and 3. In public school, though, we did do a production of "West Side Story" in Latin that made the local papers. Rick
